We’re stoked to announce our CMJ party on Friday October 18 at Union Pool, featuring The Can’t Tells, Bad Cop, Heliotropes, Diane Coffee, Cub Sport, Sunwolf, and DJ Neal Sugarman (of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings). Party kicks off at 5:30 with a DJ set from Neal Sugarman (Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Sugarman 3) and FREE BEER c/o Brooklyn Brewery. Come hang early with us to preview the new Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings record, swill Brooklyn lager, and dance to Daptone Records jams. You’re welcome. RSVP HERE!
A couple of weeks back, SPIN premiered Heliotropes’ wistful, feel-good video for “Everyone Else” (via distillerpromo).
This video belongs here on Broadist for many reasons, but mostly because it epitomizes good vibes. After swimming down the sidewalk in rain it finally feels like summer is starting to break, and I’m glad I can look back at this video and remember “yeah, it was a good one.” (You can see me grinning maniacally and uncontrollably peppered throughout).
Remember when Meghan drew this thing a couple years ago? Well, I sure do. Here’s her Introducing A Broad if you’d like to re-familiarize with my favorite etiquette expert - and check out How Not To Be A Dick, finally in book form!
From my friend, Martha: “My old boss, Aimee, is looking for a full time admin assistant, starting immediately, for her designer wallpaper company. Quickbooks a plus. Her email is aimee [at] aimeewilder [dot] com. I’m assuming Wordpress/Big Cartel experience would also be helpful.”
